I have decided to put my house up for rent. Can someone help get me started?
Thursday, October 9th, 2008I have decided that I want to put my house up for rent but I have never done this before. I want to make sure that I do it right and cover all of my bases. My big concern is the lease agreement. I want to make sure that it is right and thorough. Also does anyone have helpful tips on advertising? If you have had any bad experiences where you learned some hard lessons that would very helpful as well. Thank you in advance.
I have several homes that I rent out. I advertise for really cheap in my local circular that goes out once a week. Honestly though, I have found that I get more prospective tenants when I pay a little more to advertise in the newspaper.
Another great way to advertise is that if your home is near a road, put a yellow sign in the yard with huge red letters that way people who drive by will see it.
As to your contract you should get a strongly worded one that protects you in any possible circumstance that could come up.
I highly recommend the guide that is sold through this website at http://www.ownersecrets.com
