They then try and recoup some of their high grade carpet costs by going cheap on the carpet pad. Good carpet pad makes all the difference in the world. What you need to do is just the opposite. Use a higher grade of rebond padding with a medium-grade carpet.
The most common problem owners have with not being able to rent their homes is caused from a bad looking carpet.
Remember, prospects aren’t dumb. In fact, they are probably smarter than we are.
If the carpet is old, badly worn, or stained and damaged you need to replace it. One of the first things that knowledgeable prospects look at is the carpet. Carpet goes beyond just utility value and also includes decor value. Just make sure that you replace carpet last, after the painters are done.
I recommend you put in a nonsculptured carpet with short fibers in one or two neutral colors. From my own experience, this type of carpet as the broadest appeal.
